The worst movies and performances of 2005

The Bad Cinema Society has announced its picks for the worst movies and performances of 2005 just as Hollywood gets ready to honour the best. The horror film Alone in the Dark won Worst Film of the Year at the Los Angeles-based group's annual Stinkers Bad Movies Awards. The movie was also recognized for Worst Director (Uwe Boll), Worst Actress (Tara Reid) and Worst Special Effects. But the big winner at the Stinkers was Son of the Mask, which earned a Worst Actor award for Jamie Kennedy as well as Most Intrusive Musical Score, Worst On-Screen Couple, Worst Sequel, and Foulest Family Film. Jessica Simpson's version of "These Boots (Are Made For Walking)" for the Dukes of Hazzard soundtrack took the prize for Worst Song. The star was also chosen as Worst Supporting Actress and Most Annoying Fake Accent, Female. Tyler Perry won Worst Supporting Actor for Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Worst Screenplay dishonours went to Fantastic Four while Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo was named Most Painfully Unfunny Comedy. The Worst Remake was Yours, Mine & Ours and The Honeymooners was named Worst Resurrection of a Classic TV Series. Syriana was named Most Overrated Film and Chicken Little earned Worst Animated Film. The Stinkers didn't spare the children. Adrian Alonso won Worst Performance by a Child for The Legend of Zorro while the kids in the cast of Yours, Mine & Ours were chosen as Worst Child Ensemble.
